OK David. Thank you so much. I have sent you a direct email which, hopefully, is now in your Inbox.

Hi Steve,
I was with 174 Bty in Troon for two years and then with 21 in Menden until the mid 1960s and will also be 80 in December.
However although I can remember many of the Battery from that time I cannot put a face to Derek Hutchins even though his name rings a bell. I was Battery Pay Clerk for a couple of years during this time so had contact with all members of the Battery on pay day but did not see much of them during working hours.
I have just looked quickly thrugh my scrap book but he does not feature in there but I enjoyed looking back at some of the highlights, especially the times that the Battery spent in Freinsheim and some of the sporting achievements.

Sorry I am not able to help but please pass on my congratulation for his 80th Birthday.

Best regards, David Wells

Hi John & Co, your registration form will not allow me to register.
Each attempt gives me an error message stating that I have not completed the "green" questions correctly.
I do not know what I am entering incorrectly as it is only personal details and a password.

Hi David. Do you recall meeting Derek Hutchins at Troon or Menden. He was with the 21st also. He will be 80 soon.

A really nice collection here. It's a shame that many of the photos in the Gallery don't have a caption, but better to have the photo than not at all. I'm preparing a scrap book for a friend (Derek Hutchins) who served with the 21 Gibraltar Battery in Troon and Menden. He will soon be celebrating his 80th birthday, so I will present the scrap book to him on his birthday. Is there any information or copyright-free photos available that I must be sure to include? Does anyone recall Derek?

Hi, was looking through a quick search on some info regarding 21bty and your website popped up...., I'm currently running 21bty.org.uk for the 21 Association.

I have no idea whether you are also on their Facebook page as a member, but I'd love to have a chat with you regarding your site and the information and images you have here.

If you could get in touch it would be great....

best wishes

Stephen
